Seed Cycle for your menstrual cycle:)

Supporting the old mantra of “food is your medicine,” Ayurveda and certain recent researches show how innocent seeds can help regulate and support our menstrual cycle. The technique is called “seed rotation,” and can be used to boost estrogen levels in the first part of our cycle and progesterone levels in the second part.

Who is this for?

This technique can be used by anyone who is experiencing
1. Irregular periods
2. heavy flows
3. Substantial PMS, and
4. Even women going through peri-menopause and menopause.

Which seeds should be used in what part of the cycle?

From Day 1 to Day 15 (or the middle of the cycle), we need more estrogen in order to build up our endometrium (uterus lining). This is called the follicular phase. With seeds such as flaxseed and pumpkin seeds, we can naturally increase our estrogen levels.

From Day 15 to Day 30, or the second part of the cycle (also known as the luteal phase), progesterone is needed to help thicken the uterus lining and prepare it for implantation.

The high contents of zinc in sesame seeds and vitamin E in sunflower seeds have been shown to stimulate progesterone production.

Why add more estrogens to our diet?

Many women worry that they are already experiencing estrogen dominance, so why add more estrogen in the form of phytoestrogens, such as flaxseed?
For this to be fully understood, we first need to establish that not all estrogens are “bad,” and the one that tends to be high in estrogen-dominant women is estradiol, also known as E2.
Excessive levels of this E2 have been linked to breast and prostate cancer.

***Flaxseed suppress estradiol production**** making it safe to consume regularly and experience magically transformed menstrual cycles into perfect regular cycles.

How to take these seeds:

From day 1 to day 14: 1tsf of flax seeds and one tsf of pumpkin seeds
From day 15 till first day of next periods: 1tsf sesame seeds and 1tsf sunflower seeds
Roast these seeds and have them in any form. You can use sesame seeds in tarhka of your curd or daal or sabzi if they are difficult to consume as they are.

Ayurveda believes that the large the sign if perfect menstrual period is that it starts on full moon. Slowly by this mechanism, you will observe that your cycles will start falling in full moon period and you will start experiencing more and more health with each passing day.
