Let me share few myths about thyroid issue.
There are many but here are some common ones:

1. It’s Impossible to Lose Weight With Hypothyroidism

The truth is that losing weight can be hard for anyone — especially during your late 30s and early 40s, when metabolism slows and pounds can pile on. If your thyroid hormone dosage is appropriate, you should not have a tougher time shedding weight. But if you’re adequately placed on thyroid hormone, you’re on the same playing field as that of a normal person.

2. Myth: Hypothyroidism Means Constant Fatigue
Myth or Fact: Partially true
Fatigue is a very common complaint among people with hypothyroidism, but it’s also a very common complaint in people without the condition too.
This is One of the early signs of hypothyroidism along with lack of energy due to slowed metabolism. But once properly treated, energy levels returns to normal. If it still persists, reason can be some deficiencies. Its better to get it tested rather than just assuming thyroid to be it’s reason.

3. Myth: You Can’t Take Thyroid Medication During Pregnancy

This is very very important.

Without treatment, hypothyroidism can result in serious complications during pregnancy, including miscarriage, preeclampsia, preterm delivery, and developmental issues.
It’s safe to take synthetic thyroid hormone thyroxine during pregnancy to treat hypothyroidism In fact, your baby is dependent on you for its thyroxine requirement. And thyroxine is essential for the proper brain development of the baby.
