Does eating foods rich in Calcium really cause stones?

Yesterday under my post, there was a big confusion for Calcium intake.
There is a biggest myth about Calcium that increased intake of Calcium rich foods cause Renal stones. Do you know that it’s the opposite?
Deficiency of Calcium causes renal stones.
Surprised?
Let me brief this

First of all there are Calcium oxalate stones which are most common and not the Calcium stones.

There are two types of main composition of renal stones
1. Calcium oxalate stone
2. Uric Acid stones

Calcium is a nutrient that is found in dairy products, such as yogurt, milk and cheese.

You need to eat calcium so that it can bind with oxalate in the stomach and intestines before it moves to the kidneys.

Eating foods with calcium is a good way for oxalates to leave the body and not form stones.

The best way to get calcium into your body is through the foods you eat.

Calcium in the form of a supplement may raise your chances of forming new calcium oxalate stones because synthetic calcium binding capacity with oxalate and it’s metabolism differs from natural food Calcium

So please don’t avoid calcium foods to avoid renal stones
Here are some common causes of renal stones
1. Dehydration from not drinking enough fluid
2. A diet too high in:
Protein
Oxalate
Sodium (salt)
Sugar (like high fructose corn syrup)
3. Obesity

Some people with particular medical conditions like Dent Disease, Hyperthyroidism and some kind of digestive disorders are also prone to kidney stones

Best key is to eat calcium and oxalate foods together to make them bind properly so that it’s easier for kidney to excrete them out.
